What Gate Repair Actually Costs in Dallas–Fort Worth
Every other gate company in this market makes you call to find out what anything costs. We think that is backwards, so here are our real ranges.
These are preliminary ranges for planning purposes, based on jobs we have completed across Dallas–Fort Worth. They are not a binding quote. Gate repair pricing depends on the operator, the parts needed and the condition of the gate itself — the real number comes after a technician sees it.
Price ranges are being finalised
We are publishing real figures per repair type based on completed jobs rather than guesses. In the meantime, call +1 (800) 770-9642 and we will talk you through what your specific fault typically costs before anyone is dispatched.
| Repair | What you’re experiencing | Typical visit | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diagnostic / service call | Something is wrong and you need someone to find out what. | 30–60 minutes | — |
| Remote or keypad reprogramming | The keypad works but the remote does not, or neither is being recognised. | 30 minutes | — |
| Photo-eye / safety sensor replacement | The gate opens but reverses immediately, or refuses to close at all. | 45–90 minutes | — |
| Limit switch adjustment or replacement | The gate opens partway and stops, or overtravels and strains. | 45–90 minutes | — |
| Capacitor replacement | The motor hums or clicks once but the gate does not move. | 30–60 minutes | — |
| Control board replacement | Nothing responds, or the board is showing an error code. | 1–2 hours | — |
| Off-track / gate realignment | The gate has come off its track or is dragging and binding. | 1–3 hours | — |
| Hinge repair or re-weld | The gate is sagging, or a hinge or frame joint has cracked. | 2–4 hours | — |
| Chain, sprocket or track replacement | Grinding or slipping while the gate travels. | 2–4 hours | — |
| Hydraulic seal and fluid service (FAAC) | A FAAC operator is slow, weak, or leaking fluid. | 2–4 hours | — |
| Intercom or access control repair | The call box, telephone entry or card reader has stopped working. | 1–3 hours | — |
| Full operator replacement | The operator is beyond economical repair. | Half to full day | — |
When repair beats replacement — and when it does not
An operator under about ten years old is almost always worth repairing. Boards, capacitors, limit switches and gearboxes are all serviceable parts, and a board swap is a fraction of the cost of a new unit. Past fifteen years, parts get scarce and you start paying for the same visit twice a year — that is when replacement becomes the cheaper decision, and not before. We will tell you which side of that line your gate is on. If it is a repair, we do not sell you an operator.
What we won’t do
We don’t quote a final price over the phone without seeing the gate. Anyone who does is either guessing or planning to change the number once they are standing in your driveway. We also don’t sell an operator when a board will fix it — the margin is better on the operator, which is exactly why you should be suspicious when it gets recommended by default.
Pricing questions
Why is it a range and not a fixed price?
Because the part that failed, the operator it failed on, and the condition of the gate itself all move the number. A control board on a common LiftMaster unit is not the same job as a board on a hydraulic FAAC. The range tells you the territory; the technician gives you the exact figure before any work starts.
Will you quote over the phone?
Not a final number, no. Anyone who does is either guessing or planning to change it when they arrive. We will tell you what the likely fault is and what that repair typically costs, then confirm on site before touching anything.
Is the diagnostic fee waived if I go ahead with the repair?
Ask when you call — we will tell you plainly before the technician is dispatched, not after the work is done.
