Our lot is narrow and the drive is short. Can we have an automatic gate?
Often yes, but usually as a slide rather than a swing. A swing gate needs clear arc to open into and somewhere for your car to wait off the road, and on these older plats that space frequently does not exist. A slide running along the boundary needs length rather than depth, which these lots are more likely to have. We would measure before recommending either.
Is it worth putting a gate on a small property at all?
That is genuinely your call and we will give you an honest view rather than a sales one. On some of these frontages a gate adds real security and works well; on others it would mean reversing into the road every time you leave, which is a poor trade.
